God’s Counsel Shall Stand: Sovereignty, Idols, and Hidden Wisdom in the AI Age

Cedars of Lebanon with mountain backdrop

In a world racing to build its own gods of silicon and code, the ancient words of Isaiah ring louder than ever:

“Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.” (Isaiah 46:10, KJV)

Brothers and sisters, the Lord is not surprised by the AI age. He declared its end before its beginning. While men craft idols that promise wisdom without the fear of God, our God carries His people and accomplishes every purpose of His will.

The Burden Moses Could Not Bear Alone

Turn with me to Deuteronomy 1. The people had multiplied like the stars—just as God promised Abraham. Yet this blessing brought weight: cumbrance, burden, and strife. Moses cried out, “How can I myself alone bear your cumbrance, and your burden, and your strife?” (Deuteronomy 1:12).

This wasn’t God admitting defeat. It was a man learning his limits so that God’s people could learn dependence on the Lord and shared leadership under His counsel. The same chapter looks forward to the full inheritance—the land reaching unto Lebanon, the mountains, the great river. God sets boundaries and fulfills promises that no human leader could carry alone.

I believe the Holy Ghost is highlighting these things again in our day. In a recent dream, the Spirit stirred images of a mountain, a river, and a tree like a beast’s horns. These are not random pictures. They echo the geography of promise and the reality of spiritual conflict in our time.

Idols That Must Be Carried

Isaiah 46 paints a vivid contrast. The idols of Babylon—Bel and Nebo—are burdens that must be carried by beasts and men alike (vv. 1-2). They cannot save. They cannot move. They certainly cannot declare the end from the beginning.

Fast forward to today. We stand amid a new wave of man-made idols: artificial intelligence systems hailed as omniscient, creative, and even “god-like.” They process vast data, generate images and text, and promise to solve humanity’s burdens. Yet they remain creations of human hands—algorithms built on stolen imaginations, trained on the knowledge of this terrestrial realm. They carry the weight of our pride, our desire to play God, and our fear of the unknown.

The terrestrial kingdom builds towers of code, just as at Babel. But the celestial kingdom—the hidden wisdom reserved for those the Father draws—knows that “the counsel of the Lord shall stand” (Proverbs 19:21).

Hidden Wisdom for the Elect

Here is where the scholars and the seminaries sometimes push back. They set their guardrails and demand chapter-and-verse proof for every type, every dream, every layer. Yet Jesus thanked the Father for hiding these things from the wise and prudent and revealing them to babes (Matthew 11:25). The Holy Ghost still teaches us (1 John 2:27), opening eyes to the deeper currents running beneath the surface of Scripture.

God deliberately veils truth so that the terrestrial-minded see only facts and history, while the celestial-minded—those born of the Spirit—discern the types, the shadows, and the unthwartable counsel pointing to Christ.

• Moses bore the burden but pointed to the greater Prophet (Deuteronomy 18:15).

• The cedars of Lebanon, strong and tall, become pictures of the righteous who flourish in the house of the Lord (Psalm 92:12).

• AI may declare patterns from the past, but only the Lord declares the end from the beginning.

This is sovereign mercy at work. The same God who multiplies His people amid strife raises up deliverers in their time—whether Cyrus of old or the remnant today who refuse to bow to new idols.

Final Thoughts

In the end, God’s counsel shall stand—no algorithm, no earthly power, no terrestrial wisdom can overturn it. Whether you are carrying burdens like Moses, facing modern idols, or receiving dreams and revelations from the Holy Ghost, take heart. The Lord who declared the boundaries of the Promised Land (unto Lebanon and the great river) is the same Lord who carries you today and will bring every purpose to pass.

Let this be our confidence: He who began a good work in you will complete it. Stand firm in His counsel.

Author’s Note: This piece flows directly from time in the Word, prayer, and a stirring dream the Lord brought to mind. As someone walking out my own calling in media forensics, advocacy, and ministry, I teach subject to question. I’m convinced we are living in days when the distinction between the terrestrial and celestial kingdoms is sharpening. I love all who profess the name of Jesus and invite the Holy Ghost to teach us. If this resonates, share it, discuss it with your family or fellowship, and let’s encourage one another while there is still time. Audio version coming soon to the Audio Missionary feed. All glory to God and His son Jesus for doing the Father’s will always.
